A Ballroom Dance Fitness Class

So what exactly do we get from this class......formerly known as rungodance, soon to be 'something' else.  Who cares really,  what it's called?  What the heck is it good for?  Well frankly I have amazed myself as how nicely my students have progressed.  I have taken non-dancing people and created a sense of coordination and fluidity, I tell ya, I have been amazed.

It's easy to learn the ballroom dances in this format; all of them. I use all the rhythms in my class from Foxtrot to Salsa and Bolero to Zydeco and anything else you can think of! It's a must experience kind of thing! The class imposes such movement and demand that the participant disengages the mind and the thinker (always the culprit ) and gives the body a chance to move and grove to the beat and rhythm.  Ladies follow and learn to WAIT for the cue before they move and men do the same as for the key to any good leader is to be a great FOLLOWER (one secret out!).

Calories burned equal any where from 300 to 600,  depending on the energy out put.  Sweat, yes you will sweat and use every muscle in the body. Stretch, yes you will stretch and gain flexibility if not on purpose, by accident.

Your relationship with music will be enhanced NO MATTER WHAT.  Your understanding and predictability of music will get better and better.  I have seen NON music people actually develop a sensitivity and awareness to the music.  It's really all about the music.

Whether you feel like learning to dance, developing your lead or follow, feeling  the music, building your confidence, losing some fat or burning some calories or just feel like being expressive and having a good time,  this class is for you.

Fat Burning Machine Post Cruise Update

June 2nd was the first leg of our Fat Loss Seminar and on June 7th I went on a cruise; 4 days of food, drink, desserts, boose and many decadent choices of items to intake. This is the third cruise I've been on since I has 'changed my eating habits' and I must say this is the third cruise that I have not stressed over 'what am I going to eat today' scenario. I have been a bonified binger/purger and I am so happy to declare that the urge to do either didn't even enter my mind this trip, nor the previous two cruises. It's been about 2 years now since I would say my bullimia is under control. Hallilejiah! It has not been easy, living with food addiction is quite challenging. (Another time to elaborate on that topic)
The point of my story is that can go on a cruise and make good choices AND enjoy yourself. I had decided that I would not stop working out on the trip and also that I would not skip meals. (Remember that this system of fat optimization considers 'skipping meals' cheating) . I ate 4 to 6 meals each day. I drank alcohol and sugar drinks moderatley and I maintained my normal work out schedule. (Most hotels and cruise ships have gyms as to accommodate the guests). And of course each evening hit the nite club and danced the night away. Once your body is on the other side of being a fat storage incubator you can deviate and enjoy life and it's decadence.
I am here to tell you that it CAN be done. You can do it. You can turn your body into a fat burning machine!

Dance Progress in a Year!

Cyndi takes 2 to 3 Rungo Dance classes per week and rehearses with The Rungo Stars Team weekly. She has never had any official 'ballroom' dance lessons but was exposed to jazz and modern in her youth. She is very athletic and retains a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Her Latin blood has always availed her the opportunity to get along well rhythmically no matter what the music that is playing or the dance that is expected. She is no stranger to the dance floor!
About a year ago she accomanied a current student to one of my Rungo Dance Classes; she has been comong ever since. The point of the story is PROGRESS. We chatted last night, as we often do after class, and she said 'come on, be critical with me and tell me how I can improve.' I did, we reviewed her specific issues but more importantly I also was able to praise her for her wonderful achievements and progress. She is dancing as if she has been taking many private lessons.
Cyndi is a married, busy professional, she has three beautiful children and has dedicated herself to maintaining her classes for an entire year. When you see her dance it is breathtaking, I am amazed and taken back. I am so pleased and proud of her and my system because together they have really deveoped a force of synergy! Now, how do we get her husband to dance?

Let's Give Them Something to Talk About!

I must say that all my hard effort and work has paid off. I have been doing this for 22 years and never have I felt so rewarded as I did Saturday night. All my students performed quite well; they surpassed any expectation and provided great entertainment. Most importantly they reached heights that they hadn't reached prior. All the dancers broke through limitations and intimidations. I love teaching dance and my job is so fulfilling.
It's about being the best you can be and not worrying about ANYTHING else. We need to shed the ego and allow ourselves to nurture that place in us that is for our well being and mental and physical prosperity. Possibly doing things for others is getting in the way of our advancement. It's never too late. It you feel like singing; SING! If you feel like dancing; DANCE! If you feel like acting; ACT! If you feel like playing an instrument; PLAY! It's never too late to do the things that nourish our souls. Unleash the perfomer in you; it is very liberating. Who cares what they think??!!!!!Let's give them something to talk about!

Performance Nourishes the Soul! Rungo Stars Come Out Saturday!

'Click, click, click, click' sounded the sticks as we marched through the players entrance leading to the grassy patched field of the old Tampa Stadium. In our line we stood, awaiting our cue to traverse across the field to our designated spots. We could hear the whisking sounds of our capes as we snapped into our turns like a squad of well trained soldiers. We took our places, the horns belted out their introduction and blinded by the lights, off came the capes and the dance was on! I will never forget the feeling that I had nor the size of my goose bumbs.

This Saturday my group of girls, the Rungo Stars Dance Team, is making their debut. I can't wait for them to collectively experience what I experienced in high school 30 years ago.

It doesn't matter how old you are; performing nourishes your soul. There is something about the absolute charge that overcomes someone when they perform. It is such an uplifting yet nerve wracking proposition. The confidence goes through the roof and the exhilaration lasts a long time like a battery charge. Try it, you may love it!

Brides Your First Dance Can Be Magical!

There's nothing like the first dance as Bride and Groom to bring the entire entourage to tears; the parents, the grand parents, good friends and family, and the wedding party. Of course, my personal favorite is the "Father' of the bride who invariably thinks he's going to hold it together. What a warm and tender experience that I am honored in which to take part. I must say, the wedding dances are by far the most rewarding of my career.

It's a very easy process. I ask a few questions like; where did you meet? How did he propose? What is most important about your dance? Do you have a song? And usually that's enough for me to start my journey of choreography that will tell a story and lead the new couple into a new life of love and happiness. Sometimes we get very fancy and other times we keep it basic; but we ALWAYS send the right message!

It's not a long dance and it doesn't have to be expensive, we can work around that. What is most important is that a lasting memory is created and that it will never be forgotten! In fact I am putting together a Wedding Couple Alumni where we can keep the love alive (and perform our dance AGAIN!) Stay posted!

How Can You Turn your Body Into a Fat Burning Machine?

Well, can you?  yes you can teach your body to burn fat instead of storing it. I didn't think it possible given with my relationship with food that one day I would actually be in control of my intake and optimize my work outs. It has happened, though not as timely as I had wished. It is certainly a work in progress!

Firstly, develop a sense that the body and mind need to be fed for good function.   In a wood burning stove as soon as the fire is ignited to keep the oven burning consistently logs of wood must be administered efficiently and in a timely manor.  My friend, Joe, the Firehouse Chef and Nutritionist says ' Clock , Calorie and Content ' the three C's that got me from fat storing to fat burning (along with a heavy and hard work out routine discussed later).

In other words and secondly,  EAT BREAKFAST  and make it the biggest meal/calorie intake of the day or a very close second. A real easy choice is a banana, oatmeal and 4 to 6 egg whites.  If you can't stomach that, e mail me and we can discuss other options.

Thirdly, eat every 3 to 4 hours and DON'T SKIP a meal. This will be difficult but extremely effective AND mostly will rid you of your carb cravings that sneak in when we starve ourselves and then compensate like a ravenous Gorilla!

Water;  drink it!  How much, well more than you are drinking now most likely. It's very important to flush your body and drink water.

And lastly for today; move, dance, walk, park far away, skip, move, move and move!

So a start to flipping your body to fat optimization as opposed to fat incubation.

Thank you Students!

Well it's finally hit; the IDHARJ club and association.  I am the President and I am here to report that we dance professionals DO have a real job.  It is what we do, what we love and what we share.  Please don't take that away from us.  Yes we dedicate our lives to helping others build balance and control, gaining grace and poise, overcoming shyness, developing their sense of agility and instilling confidence.  How could anyone do so many things in an eight hour 'work' day?  This dedication takes deep thought, grand visions, masterful skill and colorful imagination. This profession is so rewarding and empowering.  It's me, my music, my ideas and a wise individual who has given me the reigns to change their life through dance.  Wow!  What a charge!

Thank  you students who take lessons; we love you and appreciate you very much! You make every minute of our devotion worth so much more!

Dance On!

A Smile Goes A Long Way!

I am a dance professional of 20 years.  I walked into  work this morning and thought 'wow, how lucky I am that I get to go to work everday and do something that I love to do.'  How many can say that? I love to teach people how to dance and achieve their goals!  I may not drive a new car, or have fancy clothes or even be rich in  material things but I am rich in my smile.  I think of the many ways I have touched peoples' lives and the many ways that they  have touched mine and I smile.

I was teaching a Father of the Bride last night and his wife was standing in for the Bride. The one thing  he did most of the lesson,  wasn't get the steps but  it was make a smile.  Though the steps were awkward and foreign he wore a smile on his face and it went such a long way.  Attitude is everything. I  told him the guests at the wedding will be mesmorized by his smile first, dancing second.

My dad's big on smiling.  He always lights up a room when he walks in with his ear to ear.  He's like a Christmas tree. I will always remember him smiling at me as a child when he would zip up the driveway on his way home from work; ah the great memories of the world!

So for those of you who don't smile or underestimate a smile I urge you to take the smile plunge.  Smile and see what happens.  It's impossible to frown when you are smiling. Do a dance, share a smile and have a laugh! Oh, go ahead and do it!

A Dance Pros Dream Come True!

A major milestone was reached this past week.  My competitive and social dance student of two years went out dancing and found himself the 'talk of the night.'  It was a local cafe hosting a hand and line dance party where many women convened. Most of the women were very attractive and close to his age range; it was his perfect opportunity to meet people, practice his dance moves and display his level of confidence.

After being there a little while, he approached and  invited one of the more athletically fit gals to join him on the dance floor.  With disdain in her voice and attitude in her disposition, she turned him down.  Well, a frustrated man,  he walked himself back to the bar found a seat and sat next to another fine lady who had seen the entire encounter.  After a  little chit chat,  she gladly got up and accompanied him to the dance floor where they engaged in a few dances.  Well, that's all it took because the next  thing you know the line of women asking him to dance was endless.

After ninety minutes of dancing and socializing, the original lady with disdain and attitude re approached him and profusely apologized for her behavior as she asked HIM to join her in a dance.

Now if that's not a dance teacher's dream come true, I don't know what is !!!!

Why Dance?

Have you ever been on the dance floor letting loose and experiencing great expressive moments and movements when you realize many eyes in the room are watching you? It's one thing to turn heads because you are attractive or have on a cool outfit but it's another story to turn heads because something you are doing is magnetic.  Is it the joy that people want?  Is is happiness they seek?  Is it the ability to let go and share?

How come some people are not any fun to watch and others are; and it has nothing to do with skill level.  I know plenty of highly trained skillful dancers that are boring to watch.  Or is it that they are not giving? A very interesting question.  I am aware of many dancers who are not highly skilled but a blast to watch and dance with or next to;   my dad, for starters.  His style has always been referred to as 'minestrone' but the ladies love dancing with him.  In fact that's how my mom and dad met.  He was the only American GI that really had fun out there and according to my mother 'knew what he was doing' ......so that's why I am here........So in an indirect way my existence is because  a man and woman connected on that level.  My dad is a very giving, loving expressive human being.......on and off the dance floor.

What is Double Noors?

When I was a rookie dance teacher I had the pleasure of working with the top producer of the company. He and I would teach couples together and that is how I learned a lot of the dynamics of the dance business and how to teach people, especially couples. When couples came in for dance lessons it was usually because 'something was missing'. I used to fight that all the time because in my naive, inexperienced mind I thought that they were in love and wanted to share time together........hmmmmmm. Yes that is a perfect scenario, but unfortunately, unrealistic. Don't get me wrong, at times couples come in to really learn to dance but it was the minority.
If we are successful at being good dance specialists, we can get the couples to the 'double noors' status, which is addressing their 'missing issue' and over coming it! By the way, one of the most rewarding services that we can provide is finding that 'missing thing' and bringing to the forefront of the relationship so the couple can live the positive experience. And who said dancing wasn't powerful!??!!
Double noors, the place we all want to be; harmony and good communication; considerate behavior and loyal dedication, clarity in needs and desires, general and everlasing kindess and humility! It can't be that difficult!!! Dance yourself into good behavior, it works EVERY time if you let it!

My New Couple Did It!

How exciting it is to be a part of accomplishments, left and right (no pun intended, har har har).  I have a new couple, they are newlyweds and gaze into each other's eyes accordingly.  They want to learn 'social dancing' as they plan to do as many activities together as possible.  So they started taking the dance class  that my brother and I teach at On Top Of The World, a retirement community in Clearwater. As many students they want to 'learn the right way' so they took my private lesson bonus offer and now they see the value of a private lesson.

Well every good teacher suggests and encourages practice; I suggested they come to a dance fitness Rungo Dance class and they did. WEll again, in front of my eyes I see everything coming together.  The arms and feet are flaring around finding their way and by the end of class they have accomplished great things.  Rungodance is perfect for drilling basics and things happen so fast that the mind can not take over.  I was very pleased with their achievement.  And, they got a heck of a work out!  What more could we ask for? Burn while you learn with Rungo Dance!

Try Turning Your Critic Into Your Coach!

Try Turning Your Critic Into Your Coach!

I often wonder why we are so compelled to immediately focus on the bad,  instead of the good.  Can anyone help me understand?  I think it's a good plan to ask yourself questions that put you in the positive end of the spectrum. ' What is right?  What is going well?  What are you proud of and pleased with?  What is good about the situation?  How can I make things better?

When you learn a skill it is somewhat imposed upon you to force the focus to be of a seeking nature, as in seeking know how; and that can be positive.  it also keeps your brain moving in the direction of 'toward' instead of 'away' from.   When I teach a person a new dance technique or pattern they go inside and search for the 'how to' and if I time it just right they don't have time to ask 'why not or can't' I get this?

I think teaching and coaching is an extremely honorable thing to master.  Communication and sensitivity are such key elements in delivering information to one who is trying to learn a skill or technique.  I want the focus to be, what I can do and what I am good at, not anything else; the alternative is just very limiting and in some cases very destructive.

So let's gather together and ask ourselves some questions that force us to answer in positive spin.  What am I good at?  What do I do well?  How am I helpful to others?  I have shared just a few questions that if you truly take the time to ask yourself,  the answers may amaze you. Turn your critic into your coach!

Guys, You're Working Too Hard; Just Dance!

Gentlemen, have you ever really wondered what would make your lady the happiest; a luxurious Mediterranean cruise or a beautifully gleaming tennis bracelet? How about sending her to the day spa for the pampering of a lifetime? Or what about planning a special fancy party for her friends at some swanky restaurant? Hey, a mink coat?  How about redoing the entire kitchen with the latest greatest appliances and marble counter tops?  Those all sound like perfect smile makers, but I have one to top them all; just dance.

I have been around dancing for most of my life. My professional career in the field has lead me to the conclusion  that a man should dance with his lady.  She would MUCH prefer to dance with you than any of those fancy, expensive items mentioned previously. It's so easy to put a smile on her face, and it is one of fortitude!

I can't stress enough how women love to dance with their men.  The most basic little movement of 'walk, walk, walk ' embraced by the arms of the man makes the lady giggle and smile from ear to ear. I really don't think you guys understand what it all means.  She wants to spend quality time WITH YOU and that is where it ends; and where dancing begins.

So do yourself a favor and learn to dance; she will appreciate it forever AND it only gets better with time. It will never get old, lose value or get shoved in a closet!

Dancing is Fun and Fitness is Necessary!

Dance and Fitness:  A Synergy of Mind and Body

Getting fit is easy when you enjoy it.  Dancing is one of the best routes to take for  the optimization of muscle development and agility.  There is no better match than moving and stressing the muscles combined with stretching  them  for ease and flexibility.  The mind and body work together in both instances.

It takes great  control to send signals to different body parts to move and isolate in various ways.  This process develops good muscle memory,  and of course,  accompanied by music equals dancing.  It also engages the part of the brain that keeps track in a systematic order; like counting.

"Exercise in disguise" is a great little saying.  Thirty minutes on a treadmill is very different than thirty  minutes of Rungodance or Salsa dancing. Music helps motivate the movement and through active listening it  can also disguise the actual stress and difficulty of the action.  Hence the heart rate is elevated as the body enjoys the music and it's rhythm.   The deep , thumping  sound of  the bass as it moves through the song always encourages me to shoot for heights of achievement that  I would normally not reach.

And alas we have fun.  It's no secret that 'working out' and 'doing cardio' is not a  walk in the park.  It can be difficult, strenuous and for the best results, quite intense. However what greater reward than a rhythmical, high energy dance  that pulls you right out of your deep, serious grimace 'working out' or the like and smacks a big smile on your face...... Dancing is fun and fitness is necessary.

At Rungo Dance and Fitness  we strive to achieve the complete smile; the life  extending  task of flossing and sweating coupled with the life enhancing gift of smiling and dancing.

10 Steps to a Dancing Mate

10 Steps to get your Mate Dancing -Educate Your Mate
Don't wait - you've waited long enough. If this is the one, do yourself a favor and start this process! (If this isn't the one,  move on and find one who's already trained!) Hint: Stop! No whining if you want this to work! It is very important to elevate your mate through this entire procedure.
1. Orchestrate an evening where your mate witnesses a like couple enjoying a dancing encounter (we can help if necessary).
2. Do that again - 1 month later (what do you mean that long?! you've waited your entire life!) After you get home,  fantasize out loud about how nice it would be to enjoy that encounter together...be sure to call it an encounter!
3. With enthusiasm in your voice during a drive or out for dinner tell your mate how your friend is dancing with their mate and how much they are loving the time together. Don't say anything else! Hint: Try to avoid any cynicism or criticism in your tone!
4. 'Get caught' dancing in the living room with seductive attire! By yourself,  all smiles and giggles and when you get caught quietly  cease and resume normal behavior as if you removed your hand from the cookie jar.
5. Refer to the dancing encounter as a non verbal means of communication - a way to express  yourself (a raised eyebrow and wink wouldn't hurt, maybe even a thrown kiss across the room)
6. Repeat No 1 again. ( I know this is taking a lot  of time and patience....... no worries it will make you a better dancer aka follower!)
 7. Rent a dancing movie. Watch it alone - not a word uttered,  and when the movie ends slip into the arms of your mate and demonstrate the romantic mood that has overcome you.
 8. Time to show a little admiration of a mutual friend that dances. Ideally  find yourself at an event where both of you witness a dancer 'gettin' down' or a couple 'in love' ...."Wow - I would love to do that...don't they look great!  The thought of dancing with you makes me so happy." (Make sure to include the words 'with you' or it will back fire)
 9. Plant a seed - I would love to dance on our anniversary/birthday/mother's day/groundhog day/etc and just smile, sincerely and with grace.
10. Water the seed! As soon as the opportunity arises, suggest a date night.  You will know when.  Be nice, be gracious and this will happen for you.
Your mate has no idea how truly happy this will make you, your job is to educate your mate!

Is Rungo Dance the Same as Zumba?

Is RUNGO THE SAME AS Zumba?

Yes and NO.  Zumba is fun, exciting and exercise in disguise; so is RUNGO.  Zumba uses different types of music and rhythms in different ethnicities for a more interesting hour, so does RUNGO.  Zumba uses patterns and routines to facilitate the learning process as to bring the class together and create unity and high group intensity; so does RUNGO.  Zumba uses the entire body upper, lower and middle and burns a lot of calories;  so does RUNGO.  Zumba is a big party, so is RUNGO and.....

The certified RUNGODANCE instructor is a trained technician in music, counting,  dance technique and ballroom.   All the RUNGODANCE cues are strategically placed as to enhance group organization and synergy. RUNGODANCE will teach you to count, by accident if not on purpose.  It will also teach you to be faster, more accurate and execute movement with more control and balance. The  RUNGODANCE teacher will be guided by the music as to which rhythm and groove to use. The student will learn dances like Rumba and Samba, Cha and Swing.  The student will  FINALLY learn the difference between  Salsa and Mambo.  Your posture will improve because of the consistent emphasis on that very point of interest.  AND most of all you will achieve the  greatest thing on that dance floor that your little heart desires; whatever you want and need.  You can achieve and build sex appeal, confidence, agility, coordination, focus, romance with the music, styling, smiling, happiness  plus many more great things. However, my all time favorite,  at the end of class you will FEEL GOOD!

Ladies, patience IS a virtue on (and off) that dance floor!

I was teaching the Rungo Dance Method to a group this morning and it dawned on me....ladies we need to be nice and patient when we dance with our guys, well any guy but especially YOUR guy. Remember girls that we have the ability to ALWAYS make things worse or better when it comes to interacting with our counter parts. I have seen it time and time again; lets make things better. What could it hurt?
Let's leave out the smart remarks and rolling of the eyeballs. Let go of the pushing and pulling and all that control that you seek. How about just being nice and kind. It's a state of mind. How about it? Have you ever tried living life this way; letting go? Allow yourself to experience things as they are and arrive as opposed to anticipating and planning, sometimes with antagonistic expectation. Where can we do this best......the dance floor.
A true follower makes the best leader. It's a very well kept secret and you leaders out there know of what I speak. It's quite simple and sometimes in the right state of mind, very easy. So we get in the arms of our partner and we give a kind and patient smile as to say ' I know you are more than equipped to handle this situation and I will gladly put myself in your hands and trust that you will guide me properly'....WOW, he may pass out! Try it girls, I bet it will work!
Now is where the patience comes in; you must genuinely live up to this standard you have just exhibited and NEVER lose your head. If you feel like venting call me! Corinne 727-741-3337 and we can discuss your feelings. Or send to rungodancetips@gmail.com

Who TRULY wants to be a good dancer?

If you're honest with yourself you will have to admit that you, too, want to be a good dancer; well at least an okay dancer. And that's good because most everyone wants that too. How many times are you going to 'sit out' because you 'don't know.' Frankly, no one really cares HOW you dance, they care THAT you dance. (Unless you are in the Ballroom/Tango world and then bets are off).
I think you should not judge yourself in the hands of a mutual amateur and just bite the bullet and pretend no one is watching and DANCE. What do you really have to lose? Heck, you might find that it is liberating!

Switch Your 'Bad Dancer' Status into an "Okay dancer status' in 10 Minutes

Dancing is everywhere, and especially in Clearwater.  The dancing television shows have really done a great service for getting the public to be more aware of dancing and its' assets. Dancing has all types of benefits; weight loss, grace and poice, confidence, overcoming shyness, posture, improved social contacts just to name a few.

'Dancing with the Stars' has ignited all types of interest; Kirstie Alley and 100 Days of dance and her tremendous weight loss and body transformation, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and Warren Sapp as recognized master athletes earning  top ratings. And Heather Mills proving that 'anyone' can break through their limitations, just to mention a few. Dancing is on the map and also in Clearwater, Tampa Bay!

So, how can we better our dancing skills as to make quality as part of the quantity.  It's actually very simple.  In my method of teaching dance lessons known as Rungo Dance I provide good and simple dance tips and techniques that ANYONE can achieve.  It ain't rocket science. In fact you rocket scientists usually make great students.

So jump aboard the Rungo tip and technique quest. I can turn your bad/nonexistent dancing into at least  okay dancing!  rungodancetips@gmail.com

A Large Rock Step is Hazardous to Your Swing Dance!

If there's one dance tip we recommend at the Rungo Dance and Fitness Academy is to be certain to shrink your rock step. Simple and easy, just don't let that rock step surpass your hips; yes it should be that small. Oh and make sure when the weight goes onto the back foot that it's released from the front foot!

Dance it Right the First Time

Today another milestone at Rungo dance and fitness!  I'm teaching one of my Zumba (rungodance) girls and on her lesson she learns how to count the cha chac cha, where the one is, the left and right side of the box with proper footwork and TO MUSIC!  I am soooooo proud of her, Marianella, you rock!

The point is that private lessons are so effective.  It's worth spending the money to get that individualized attention. It's better to have one  private lesson where you can apply and practice what you learn as opposed to taking a class by itself or going out dancing and 'picking up' habits.  The risk of learning things improperly in a group or 'wherever' is too great.   Do yourself a favor and learn it correctly from the beginning.

Diamonds or Dancing?

Ladies would you prefer an expensive, beautiful, luxurious diamond or a moderate dance lesson package that insures indefinite date nights for the rest of your days with your man???

What is Rungodance?

What is RUNGODANCE?

RUNGODANCE is a method of teaching developed by a 24 year dance professional.  This system allows the student a fast and easy way to learn simple movements that incorporate everyday activities such as listening, looking, shifting weight and walking. Why introduce complex multi-layered patterns and steps when all that is necessary is grooving to the music of your choice with basic weight changing movements.

This approach is perfect for those who don't have a lot of time nor want to spend a lot of money.  The results are immediate.  A man can have his lady moving around the floor to her favorite song within 10 minutes.  A lady can enjoy the highlights and dynamics of a tune and feel the freedom to be expressive.

Through private and semi private classes the method can be illustrated and administered based on ones' personal needs.  Group classes focus on repetition and drilling of technique so thinking becomes a secondary function.  The mind can get in the way of the body and it's reactive sense; RUNGODANCE helps to eliminate that 'analysis paralysis' that is very easy to stumble into. Traditional classes such as Swing and Salsa also assist in the understanding and application of RUNGODANCE.

Basically if there is music, there is RUNGODANCE; any place or any time.  Whether you are at the bar room, the ballroom, a wedding reception or Uncle Joe's Anniversary celebration this technology facilitates matching the feet and body motion to the music and it's rhythm. Connect to the beat with RUNGODANCE.  It's as easy as 1-2-3-4!

I was made a believer today!

I have been teaching ballroom for 22 years and always knew something was missing.  How could so many people spend so much time  (and sometimes money) on a hobby and not do it well.  Connecting with the music is such a HUGE extension of the dance; without it it is incomplete.  Music is to the dance as sun is to the light.

I am very pleased to know that I have adopted a system that works.  It is tedius and it takes some true focus and dedication but at the end of the day it is such a beautiful place to stay.

Music and movement together make for a wonderful relationship.
